YolanCris in the city: shooting on the streets of NYC

Inspired by the late 60s folk universe and a certain magical gypsy essence, the boho chic designs from YolanCris can bring anyone back in time. The lace and the texture, the movement and the femininity are just beautiful. I have enjoyed shooting the gowns of the various collection of these incredibly talented sisters both in the U.S. and in Spain, and I just love the gowns and both of them! Their gowns are some of the most intricate and beautiful pieces of wearable art that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing up close. I was so excited when they asked me to shoot their boho collection on the streets of NYC during bridal fashion week, and I love these images. The photos are a fresh and more urban environment that the gowns had previously been photographed in, and it was really fun for me to have the energy of the city right there with me while shooting these gowns. One of my favorite things to apply (and that I actually teach courses on!) is knowing how to utilize what is at your fingertips environmentally when shooting, and on this day from hot dog carts to puppies walking by, I was able to incorporate some really spontaneous and fun things into the photos that added more layers and more energy. These are my favorite kinds of shoots! Enjoy the images!
